Other Investment Opportunities

Below are other investment alternatives not covered in our presentation;

Offshore Investment - Some fund managers provide investors with offshore investment options. These options will usually have a very low return on investment as most overseas fund managers and economies are pretty slow. However, the advantages of these funds is that foreign currency in USD or Euros will appreciate as compared to the KES thus giving investor FX profits. These investment plans are however complex, include high fees and are not protected by local authorities.

Foreign Currency Trading - Another investment alternative that has emerged in recent years is FX trading. This is a high risk investment vehicle with very little control or predictability. You may also need to monitor performance everyday. We highly discourage use of FX trading for serious investors.

Cash Management Services (CMS) - Another great investment available to investors locally is CMS. These opportunity is available for investors placing funds of over 1,000,000 KES. The fund managers give a fixed interest rate over a period of an year or beyond to the willing investors. The rates are usually significantly higher than treasury bill rate. The fund managers will in-turn lend the CMS funds to banks and other financial institutions. However, it is important to note that CMS investment products are not regulated by Capital Markets Authority (CMA).

Investing in a Small Business - Your can also invest in a small business and either manage the business or become a dormant partner. Business are a great opportunity for profits. However, you need to be sure that the model, vision and strengths of the business establishment are solid. The odds of success in business is very low. However, if you are already in business, its important to note that business is a source of income and you will need to invest profits for capital assets and future expenditure.
